Soon I'm buying a '97 Civic DX 5 spd from some friends of mine. When I moved back from Washington to Nebraska they let me borrow it until I could find a car. I averaged 45 mpg without much hypermiling and no aero mods considering I did not own the car. The body is a bit rusty but that is easy to make it stop and patch where needed. Mechanically the car has been very very well cared for.

It will nearly double my mileage with just "normal driving" vs the 25 mpg that my current '88 Nissan Maxima gets.

I want to make the car comfortable and quiet, improve it's hwy economy, I will be making lots of trips to Chicago and don't want to be making 1,000+ round trip miles at 55mph. EFF that!
