Thanks darkane. That explains the three exhaust tubes in the lower grill area.
ProDarwin- I'm going to try to get the engine as fresh as I can and in the car early enough to try a few different things with the pump and injectors. Not a lot of dynos in this area, but I think you are right about needing to get it done. I "think" I read that it was 59hp @5000rpm. I haven't been able to find any numbers that I totally believe, yet, but hopefully I can get enough testing once the engine is in to give me an idea what's what. It's a 1985 1.6litre out of a golf 4 door.
Membership application is headed to Utah. I couldn't find an online spot to apply and there is plenty of time( for now). It's already been over a month. Less than 9 left. My boss was out, today, so tomorrow I'll be putting in for the vacation time. Engine work starts this weekend.
According to
List of discontinued Volkswagen Group diesel engines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the stats for the engine new are;
40
kilowatts (54
PS; 54
bhp) @ 4,580 rpm; 100
newton metres (74
ft·lbf) @ 2,300 rpm. Until I find anything more specific to my car, this will be my guesstimate for now.
