Wow, thanks for your elaborate answer. It`s far from Germany.

I`ve had a few "lemon" cars in my life and can fix most cars myself,so it doesn`t sound bad unless the transmission or a head gasket or some major mechanicals go.

I`ve noticed that some people went for this manual conversion, usually Polo transmissions, due to unreliability and high costs of the renewing hydraulic transmission. It seems that besides these hydraulics, it doesn`t have many specific points to look out far.

Besides the obvious stinginess bonus because of the Lupo consumption, it also seems very inviting that this little 830kg car can be upgraded to about 100hp with only a few modifications, which would really make it a little rocket.
