Wow, thanks for your elaborate answer. It`s far from Germany.

I`ve had a few "lemon" cars in my life and can fix most cars myself,so it doesn`t sound bad unless the transmission or a head gasket or some major mechanicals go.

I`ve noticed that some people went for this manual conversion, usually Polo transmissions, due to unreliability and high costs of the renewing hydraulic transmission. It seems that besides these hydraulics, it doesn`t have many specific points to look out far.

Besides the obvious stinginess bonus because of the Lupo consumption, it also seems very inviting that this little 830kg car can be upgraded to about 100hp with only a few modifications, which would really make it a little rocket.

If you already know how to change basic car parts its nothing special. Just a regular VAG diesel. electromechanical gearbox is the most common failure part. It costs 500-2000 to repair. If the engine is broken it will cost about 4300€ to buy new one.

You can tune easily the engine to 90 hp and even more if you upgrade the turbo. With manual gearbox it should already be faster to drive.

If you call the car owner ask has he changed the gearbox or just installed the gear changing mechanism from some other car. If it is different gearbox the gearing arent as tall and the fuel consumtion is higher...

A lot of the ecoMODDER experiments would be labeled as not wide by many, including over inflating your tires

That would not be "melt" but wear and tear, Google translate works pretty ok today even Suomeksi

I am not sure what "better rolling resistance" ends up meaning?

I guess as I said before there is theory (numbers) and practice from those links I read "But, they yield different numerical results!"

So on this winter tires vs summer tires "debate" topic I guess there is only ONE thing to say, one can debate and argue the THEORIES as much as one wants, but there are so many various factors playing into this that before you actually have TESTED them (as you did) one can't get the accurate answer, and what happens on one car maybe isn't the same as on another car.

Hello, maybe Vekke or other member know real work example, when somebody replace Lupo 3L semi-auto gearbox to manual from other Lupo? its difficult job if talking about matching points? I had conversation with one guy who said main problem is electronic, so you need know good electrician. I know that 3L awesome until your semi-auto gearbox broke and in my country market you can find pretty good condition Lupo 3L with gearbox failure for 1k euro. Thanks for answers...

I think it will be easy to do that, i repair some lupos with this engine, and the gearbox ia a manual type with a robot to change gears, control clutch, citroen also use this system, it's called "robotized manual gearbox" in my country.
Tou just need to convert the gearbox and gearbox levers, access the car ecu and choose the manual type gearbox(it's on the original ecu and you can change it with vag-com).

ok, but how I understand 1.4tdi, 1.7, 1.2 3l engine have different ecu. what I know there is no original 1.2 3L with full manual gear box, so there is no logic put such option to ecu? Also how about clutch pedal, because 1.2 3l have little bit different body?

1.2 tdi ecu already has manual gearbox mode on it but not on use.
Has i told before, its easy to turn it into manual mode.
I already turn a golf mk4 and the process is +/- the same for a lupo.

ok ecu fine... but talking not about theoretical stuff, but reality. where is some people who really done this conversation from 3l semi-automatic to manual gear box from other lupo engine line? because there is connection points, different type of clutch...
