I think it's a great design for fuel delivery because to make a carburetor have the same kind of control as fuel injection you end up with a really complex carburetor like the older Honda Civics have with 57 vacuum lines connecting up to it to control different things.
I'm still a bit baffled as to what your goal is with trying to trick the computer in to thinking you have warmer air coming in then you do because the idea behind a warm air intake is to improve mileage not by tricking the computer but by warming the air and taking advantage of the engine using less fuel with that warmer air.
