I'm intending to start actual construction of my CarBEN EV5. I am working full time now on the drafting of the 1 15/16" thick sections. My blog is in my signature.
Foam and fiberglass . . . what a great material. Will you be using any carbon fiber sections to improve stiffness yet keep the weight down?

One thing I'm working on is a power-regulator-isolation unit so I can use the navigation light power lines as my radio antenna. <GRINS> After all, foam-and-fiberglass are invisible to radio waves.

I'm also going to make sure all wiring and metal parts are lightning-proof, interconnected. I do NOT plan to fly into IFR weather but sometimes weather stations are far between (aka., in mountain and large bays.) I've had multiple cases where Flight Service Stations on both ends of route were reporting VFR only the space between them . . . but the weather in the middle didn't get the memo.
