I just got the windshield cover I ordered:

Just in time, this weekend winter will finally start.

Since it also covers the side windows, the solar trickle charger (which was on the dash) no longer works. I thought maybe to relocate it to the sunroof, but

The glass is tinted, so the PV's output will be reduced,
It gets mighty hot up there, especially when I put in alu foil to reduce cabin temperatures.
