My DRLs are wired to the cabin's accessory (lighter) socket, since it turns on and off with the key in ignition position. The other half is done with a relay which switches off when the headlights turn on (you can wire it to position lights, if you prefer). Not too hard to DIY, and much cheaper than £40.
