I'm still just taking data, I'm on my second tank with EGR defeated. When I next fill up, I am going to re-enable it and see if I get a mileage change. At this point any difference may be within the margin of error given varied traffic and weather conditions.

I don't think you will get much visual indication of the N18 and N75 activity, the on-off behavior of those signals is in the 1-5 mS range, perhaps too fast for the eye to detect.
