I've ridden my bicycle about 280 miles since finishing school almost exactly one month ago. 220 miles of that is specifically commuting to work everyday.
280 miles on my bike:
$38 total (13.5 cents/mile)
That same 280 miles if I would've been driving the Tempo:
$50 for insurance, $50 for maintenance/repairs/parking, and $47 in fuel (assuming 30-mpg) =
$147 total (52.5 cents/mile)
