Whats the problem with tossing your lead acid and going LiFePO4?

If you want to keep the computer powered up with out the lithium pack you could install a small lead acid or NiMH battery backed up with a small solar panel maybe charged with alternator power too. You would have to hunt around for a circuit that would engauge the 2nd battery when the lithium power pack is removed, I would just make my own circuit for this. It would be pretty easy.

At some point I am going to build about 25Ah pack that can put out well over 1000 cranking amps for my diesel.
I'm already running my camaro off a little 10.5Ah LiFePO4 pack.

I recomend a gear reduction starter if you are going to use LiFePO4. If I was going to do an alt delete or run alt free and use a deep cycle I would only want a gear reduction starter, they use about half the amps of a straight drive unit to turn the engine over.
When compairing a gear reduction Vs. straight drive starter I am use to a difference of 1/2 to 1/3 the weight, size and power draw.
