I just remembered that a few months ago I saw a car with flat plastic hubcaps. They looked like normal, not-too-expensive aftermarket hubcaps which can be found in any store, but they where flat and smooth, no holes or anything. Just what I started this thread about.
Unfortunately, there was no visible info about the maker. Also, during the time I was in the area the car's owner didn't show up. And even if he did, I might have had a hard time communicating - the car's license plates suggested it was from Bulgaria. The car had smaller wheels than my 15", it was something like a Citroën AX, Renault Clio, or something of similar size and age (I forgot the actual make and model).
Anyhow, this shows that flat, plastic, hopefully cheap, aftermarket mooncaps are available somewhere, I'm just not yet sure where.
