I sometimes find it necessary to rise up on my pegs to place my eyes as high as 60 inches in order to see over a rise to tell which way the road goes. Although the seat height of my Honda Insight is only about 16 inches which puts my eyes at about 45 inches and I have never felt that I couldn't see well enough. It's different in a car when you know you have all those crumple zones to protect you.
