Did not cease to look like a worthy F650CS/GS successor. I don't see the stable 80+ mpg with 90+ peaks I do with Teresa (in better weather) improbable with this new bike.
My only concern is the rear seat, I don't know how good 2-up ride can the NC700 be.
On fairing: Interesting question. The level of protection I'm used to can probably be somewhere around the 'X' version, looking at its windscreen. I don't think that its fairing would protect better than the naked one. And I think it's better for me not to tuck for many hours a day when the bike is used as a tourer (
can you ride comfortably upright on a CBR? How does it affect FE?), so I'd stay where I am now. I'd probably bet on a bit lowered 'X' as a next bike (I'd lose some of the wheel travel but I'd get better footing on uneven surfaces, which sounds like a good compromise to me). When the time comes, there'll be some used ones, I guess.
