All the above, add rain and cold.
Ask Craig Vetter about that thought. Better yet craigvetter.com.

I like naked bikes, they are such a pure form. The fully faired ones just work so much better for the daily ride though. I have both.

Check and check. The CBR250R body work throws a larger bubble than it looks. You can't tell just from sitting on it. Of course it's no streamliner. The Integra is close right off the shelf.

Did not cease to look like a worthy F650CS/GS successor. I don't see the stable 80+ mpg with 90+ peaks I do with Teresa (in better weather) improbable with this new bike.
My only concern is the rear seat, I don't know how good 2-up ride can the NC700 be.
On fairing: Interesting question. The level of protection I'm used to can probably be somewhere around the 'X' version, looking at its windscreen. I don't think that its fairing would protect better than the naked one. And I think it's better for me not to tuck for many hours a day when the bike is used as a tourer ( can you ride comfortably upright on a CBR? How does it affect FE?), so I'd stay where I am now. I'd probably bet on a bit lowered 'X' as a next bike (I'd lose some of the wheel travel but I'd get better footing on uneven surfaces, which sounds like a good compromise to me). When the time comes, there'll be some used ones, I guess.

Most people that have a CBR250R never tuck and get around 75 mpgUS. The G650GS single is a great deal at $7700 in the US. I'm sure they will be more common on the road here now that people are becoming aware to save gas.

You're right, the G650GS is still available. Sometimes I forget it, just because the CS was discontinued early. For what I set my eyes upon the NC700, which has almost the same storage space (and is NOT a scooter. I can't even imagine riding in scooter position.)
The G650GS has a nice price there. How much is the NC700?

$700 cheaper. The only version for the US is the high riding NC700X.

Maverix Motorsports Powerhouse Honda dealer in Middletown NY 10940 USA has two NC700X Dual Clutch Trans/ ABS bikes in stock. One has plates on it for test rides. Early reports on Fuelly show average fuel economy in the mid 60's. A hypermiler would be able to get 75 mpgUS.
