Never heard that one! I guess the oil in it is probably what makes the haze disappear. I just used polishing compound on mine. There are a million faded headlight buffing/wet sanding/toothpasting videos on YouTube. Take your pick.

Is the ICE starting via the IMA motor (quiet) or conventional 12v starter? Until you get a chance to examine the health of the pack (if you plan to), I'd switch off the pack breaker so you're only using the 12v. Otherwise you run the risk of cell damage that can't be rejuvenated.

Of course, as long as the DC-DC converter is working, you can just use it as a non-hybrid and still get stupid good mileage.
