It depends on where you are on the highway, that's all. At the closest convenient starting point, zero the Trip B odometer. I try to do this at a round number that is a multiple of ten so that it is easier to remember, but if you write it down, just use any whole number marker as your starting point.
Then drive as far as you need to on the highway, the farther the better; so obviously this is best done when you are actually going someplace. After you have driven 25 or 30 miles at least, note the number the Trip B odometer displays at the moment you pass that whole number marker, and write down the actual distance traveled vs the distance registered on the odometer.
