My little Bring My Wallet lady works well and has 100k+ km under her (second, soon third) belt. Maintenance cost still exceeds fuel cost a bit, but the latter is about to take the lead... (Hungarian fuel prices are much closer to the UK prices than to the US ones).

Smallest ever was a Honda SH50 that I learned on. It was restricted to 30mph so it wasn't much use and only did 75mpg(Imp) because I gave it full throttle everywhere.
