You had me thinking that the other shoe to drop was putting the 1.5L in an Elantra, bigger, nicer, car with a smaller engine to get better MPG. Performance would suffer...greatly, I'm sure, but it would still get you where ever you'd wanna go at 40 MPG or better YMMV. I for one could care less about 0-60 if I was getting amazing mpgs. I drove a 1.6L Gas non-turbo 103HP Focus in Poland last summer, and it was r e a l l y s l o w. I didn't mind so much, what stunk was the 37MPG, I'd have thought it could do better. I didn't drive it as eco as I could have, but still. Anyways, that's my 2 ¢.
