If you do a significant portion of your driving on the highway (top gear cruising), re-gearing is worth looking into. It gained me ~5% better fuel economy - Project 'nerd gear': taller tranny transplant nets +5.2% MPG - MetroMPG.com
I wish that Elantra I had had a 'nerd gear'. I bet they have a set for the world market models.
