Also, you can use a heat gun to mold plexiglass and lexan. I saw you used clamps which probably worked fine, but if you get it in the shape you want and heat it up, it will kind of conform permanently to that new shape.
Those look very nice BTW and has inspired me to do the full moon hubcaps and then rear skirts on my civic hatch.

I don't know but I will speculate that it's an aesthetic choice because the angle follows the character(?) lines of the bumper (upper white line) :
I think they could have gone down to the lower white line in the above picture, but the tire is starting to jut out more because the body of the car is tapering inward :

That's not a pure side picture, but I think you can see that I am angling it upwards (ha ha, kicking it up a notch).
