Sorry I didn't see this, but yeah I did.

With 40 MPG it takes 15,000 miles to recoup the difference @ $4/gal.
With 30 MPG it's around 10,000 miles @4/gal.
With 20 MPG it's around 8000 miles, and so on.

Obviously IF the price of fuel goes up, the return is sooner.

There is also the hope that these tires will last longer than the last ones due to thicker tread & stiffer design.
