11 is about what my dad got out of his 99 w/ 5.9l, i could only get 16mpg burning a whole tank on a trip running about 60mph the whole time. from the rest of your comments i'm thinking look at the "100+ hypermiling tips" and maybe a scangauge, if you could get .5 mpg more with its help it would pay for itself in about 10,000miles since youre looking at 11mpg
my dad went from 11 to 16, driving the same way, the same routes, but with an '08 5.3L silverado
