You might get a cleaner look by epoxying the clear covers from the back side, instead of screwing them in. They'll seal better then as well! Just make sure, whatever you do, that you vent them so they don't fog up.

I like the look of exposed screws/hardware, as long as they're done cleanly.

I don't want black surrounds on my headlights, I was literally thinking about adding the cover panels, then flush mounting headlights in them.
