Going that route you are still better off using the clutch, driving without the clutch pedal like that is only a good skill to have for those very rare times that the linkage stops working, do your best to match the engine speed when shifting and you can make a clutch last 1,000,000 miles, shift without using the clutch and you can wear a transmission out in 10,000 miles if you aren't good at it and the clutch is the cheaper part to replace.
