It takes prolonged abuse before it'll fail.

Just remember it's only there to shift gears, getting started from a stop, and do some REALLY SLOW manouvring.

Try to make smooth shifts without being on the clutch for too long, and it'll last a long, long time.
i was more saying that it was just worn because the test more proved it wasn't slipping. It has been drove hard for a lil bit cuz i bought it off my brother and he is no where near a hypermiler he saw it as i can drive this hard and still double his mpgs from his truck. but i am just going to have money set away for it in case it happens and not worry about it til it does.

Once you're rolling, you dont really "need" the clutch at all. Just match the input and output shaft speed and it'll slide right in.

Going that route you are still better off using the clutch, driving without the clutch pedal like that is only a good skill to have for those very rare times that the linkage stops working, do your best to match the engine speed when shifting and you can make a clutch last 1,000,000 miles, shift without using the clutch and you can wear a transmission out in 10,000 miles if you aren't good at it and the clutch is the cheaper part to replace.
