Trouble with that is that any major change in ride height on most production suspension will give unfavourable changes in wheel alignment/geometry. Anything with macpherson strut front suspension will certainly see huge changes in toe angle with any significant lowering, so on-the-fly ride height adjustment would lead to poor tyre wear, and an increase in rolling resistance. Otherwise that would be a pretty cool idea.
