I skimmed through to post 19 and didn't see this so I will add it quickly, sorry for any repeat: opinion I saw on here that seemed best informed and checked-out best in "research" was that a turbo is better, that it will only improve MPG if it is for low-end power, and preferably it would be part of downsizing the engine overall. Google technical specs on Ford's 1.0L 3 cylinder eco boost turbo. It produces the same hp and torque as my Civic's 1.6L.
