I DID meaningfully contribute. You just chose to ignore it. "Smoking is taboo" is not a meaningful response.

When no less then the American Cancer Institute puts out a yearly report that pretty much rebuts the entire premise of this WHO report, all you can say is "Smoking is taboo"? Does it not strike you at all as odd that, for all of the people who drive diesels every day, and for all those who use heating oil (and who even work WOOD of all things), that LUNG CANCER incidence rates have been steadily falling since 1990?

But, if you want to continue to be skeeered, go right on ahead.

Oh, and you can take your forum police hat and shove it up your rear end. If the premise, that diesel exhaust somehow needs to be controlled as a carcinogen, is such a strong idea that can stand on its own, then it should be able to stand up to ridicule.
