Just to clarify something. I perfectly understand the relationship between whats written on paper and how things actually work. Everything that is being complained about on this thread are things I avoid doing.
Ill never hold up a single lane highway, i don't impede the flow of traffic, and I match the speed of traffic for my own safety.
I drive in DC and Baltimore. I wouldn't survive if I didn't do these.

The argument though is null and void because when It comes to the legality of it. Which is kind of the point of how this thread started. The hypermiller who is "usually" within the letter of the law is in the "right"(legally).

However I'm sure most of us would agree that some guy doing 45 in a 65, which is legal, and the flow of traffic is doing 75-80(like where I live) is an a$$hat. And really has no right to complain if he gets plowed over. But in the court room, he was right and the other guy was wrong. That's all I'm really trying to point out.

The pessimist says “The glass is half empty,” the optimist says “The glass is half full,” and the minimalist says “We’ve got about twice as much glass as we need here.”
