That flap holds still at least 110 km/h speed on my lupo. I will measure the thickness of my flap material but I think its that 5mm stuff.
I am not very afraid of breaking my gearbox. Change high quality oils and keep driving as long it brakes down and install more rigid box there which can take the beating.
