Yes it was my own desing. I have black mudguard rubber and that clear was meant for sideskirts, but it was too big job for short time I had and decided to make those first.

Material is clear pvc:
http://redwoodstripcurtains.co.uk/cu...d-clear-1800mm
Dont know the price but that sounds expensive:

1. First install that upper corner and drill it in place where you want it to come. Make sure there is enough material facing the the tire. Also if you want to cover the front wheels leave enough material to front also. My flap is lined with inside line of tires and seems to work well, but it depends on you engine undertray etc which is best.

2. Install other self tapping screw to lowest point and aling the plastic.

3. Use marker to mark cutting line. I used about 10mm clearance to tire from side perpective and that was more than enough.

4. Take it out, and cut it with sharp cutting knife or scissors.

5. Put it back on with two screws and mark the cuttin line to front side and also the inner line with spacing for the screws. Again take it out and cut it.

6. Make sure you make the front edge rounded or chambered so it scraping wont tear it to pieces so easily.

7. Screw it own with sufficient amount of self tapping screws. Use only as short screws as you need so you wont pucture so many tires of your and other peoples cars.

Note that at least in finnish roads about 50mm is minimum clearance or that will scrape the road almost all the time .

That flap holds still at least 110 km/h speed on my lupo. I will measure the thickness of my flap material but I think its that 5mm stuff.

I am not very afraid of breaking my gearbox. Change high quality oils and keep driving as long it brakes down and install more rigid box there which can take the beating.

Thank you for your easy to follow instructions,Good mod !
I am thinking i could use some 3M double sided tape or aircraft bonding glue to attach it with.
I am hesitant to drill my bumper, If i do i was thinking I could secure it with stainless washers and rivets, after it has been cut and shaped as per your instructions.

My Beetle has its bumper designed so the air flows onto the front wheels.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Vekke do you think your original turbo (GT1541V i suppose) or BV35 will fit in a 1.9 TDI PD?
I'm wondering if +1 bar boost 105cv (or +1.2 bar boost, now with flashed ECU 140 cv) will be possible with a smaller turbo?

Do you think +58% air pumping (1.9/1.2) capability will allow the turbocharging down to 1250 rpm?

IN my country people gets bigger turbos like GT2256V and hybrids them with original gt1749v or think like these. to get 225 cv with a 1.9 2256 en tdi arl (log inside)

I just want a power/torque curve like this . I don't need more than 320 Nm (standard 250 Nm will be fine also).
Do you think heat will short the turbo's life? using (if possible) 61 cv (several times this power in heat throught the turbo) turbo and get 105 cv or 140 cv, will destroy it?

Is BV35 turbo election made because of heat and durability?

Vekke - Sorry to ask a question about a topic that was discussed in January of this year..

On the Lupo 3L conversion to manual, I have decided to use the 1.4TDI transmission from a Lupo/Arosa. I am trying to work out which axles and therefore wheel bearings to use, as the 1.4TDI uses a later style axle inner joint and larger outer spline size, both of which are desirable in my mind for everything except weight (price, strength, availability). The old wheel bearings are bad, but I would of course like to retain the aluminium suspension and spindles, although ditching the combination bearing/hub would be desirable to.

I would love to know any insight you or others may have - either about possible replacement bearings and hubs that will allow the 1.4TDI outer cups to fit etc. Thanks!

My manual conversion has started. Already installed gearlevers in place. Also some other modifications are coming like shopped/tilted roof.

Manual conversion starts to be ready mechanically, only the ECU is at the shop and that should be ready next week.

Now the roof chopping process is fully under construction. I have already got the roof to proper height and now job it to get the B and C pillars connected back to the roof.

While doing it Wondering will I extend the whole car or just to make longer boattail to the rear door/trunk?

I wish you good luck on this.

Just yesterday I was wondering whether it makes sense to also modify the doors when going for a better roof curvature on the car. I guess in your case when you really must go for the minimum it does, but I wonder what difference would it make if the roof and the rear would be modified while keeping the front doors intact, thus creating two fins on the top of the car.

Looks great Vekke. Will you need a custom windscreen or will the existing one still work?

How did you make the Teardrop shape around the side mirror? I'd be interested in buying one if you could make another.
