Making my truck a stop and go hybrid

So I want my truck to automatically shut itself off when it is idling, both at a stop and when P&Ging. Could I get it to regen brake or coast? Could I then delete the alternator? So what would I need to accomplish this?
A larger starter motor?
A battery pack?
Some sort of ECM sorcery to know when to turn the engine off and on?
