your brain can determine when best to cut the motor better than any ECM could.

It becomes 2nd nature very quickly
No regen, but I can bump start in 5th at 5mph once the engine is warmed up
I also deleted the alternator.
Original starter, but deepcycle batteries, and a 15W solar panel (sits on the dash while driving, on the roof when parked) and a back up 120v charger in case I need to drive a number of hours during a rainy week.
