I would urge you to reconsider getting a gauge sooner than later. It's the equivalent of the lap time or elapsed time instant feedback that makes the traditional "performance" world so addictive and fun.

Shop for a used one. Or get an Ultra Gauge - cheaper. (I say that even though we sell the ScanGauges here -- I'd encourage anyone to buy a used one or a competitor's product than nothing at all.)

You won't regret getting one - it'll pay for itself, guaranteed. And you can move it to any car you have in the future, or sell it in 6 months and get most of your money back. There's no good reason not to get one!
