Deleted Power steering belt as the car is very light(2,180 lbs) and is easy to steer without it.
Deleted mechanical fan, and fan shroud to reduce engine drag and lessen weight. Even in the record heat wave has not overheated.
Deleted spare tire and jack. Carry an air pump and plug kit which weigh far less and suit my needs in most cases of tire issues.
Deleted heavy rubber mats. Again to reduce weight and do not really need them.
Deleted extra trim and padding in trunk to reduce weight. Road noise does not bother me in the least.
Thinking of deleting some sheet metal in some places and replacing with lexan. And in the realm of fantasy I would like to do a complete rebuild using lightweight magnesium alloy with the frame and suspension then redo the body in carbon fiber or saturn like plastic body. Replace windows with non dot approved but lighter plexiglass.
