Late to this party just wanted to suggest that using "any compressor" at all may not be safe, flammable fuel compressors are normally designed to be explosion proof, it's possible the heat of compression ALONE could trigger a detonation just like a diesel does, which is also why DIY compressors and rams are probably INSANE. That being said a compressor designed for flammable gasses should be taking this into account I would assume...
A scuba tank compressor is not explosion proof, it also is likely to cost far more.
