One brave guy drove the thing outside as it flamed away, it didn't explode though. In every situation I have seen a leak with a fire, it was scary but always stayed a fire, now of coarse if it got out of control you could still burn something down.

But again I should reiterate, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPRESSION SYSTEMS FOR VARIOUS FLAMMABLE GASES IN USE IN INDUSTRY. I would like to know what they are to locate them on the used market.

I have no plans on jerry rigging a scuba compressor to do CNG.

I would love to take one of the 500psi units for another popular flammable gas and use it at home however. A 20+ year lifespan and rebuildability is much more popular to me than getting a CNG system that dies every couple of years.
