The "LET'S PUT A BIG DIAGONAL PIECE OF PLEXIGLAS IN FRONT OF THE WINDSHIELD!" thing... sorry, looks like a cleaning/maintenance/visibility nightmare. Cutting a hole in the air isn't nearly as difficult as closing the hole you've cut.
The goiter on the roof makes somewhat more sense, but ultimately seems like what it's accomplishing is similar to what this accomplishes

I also would like to note that I'm a little resentful these kids are getting all sorts of money and attention thrown at them for having a not-particularly-amazing idea, when I was constantly and sternly reprimanded for having strong ideas contrary to the going norm, like insisting that
the big bang was a stupid idea and that a cooling universe would look more like spreading frost and for
carrying one of these things in my pocket when I was 10 (late 80s) - I guess the key to success is only being a tiny bit
innovative, not so much you alienate people.
