In the US, most wagons and SUVs come with roof racks ... although most are never used for anything except reducing highway fuel economy.
A friend of mine uses the term "Midnight Kayaking Club" as if these people with all the roof racks are secretly kayaking at midnight ... that's why they need all that hardware up top.
