Very nice write up - thanks for sharing your story. I'm sure you'll do well with the S-10.
I'd say, start with the basics. You probably already fixed any basic issues like tuneup, brakes, tires etc. Then under the EcoModding Central subforum see the sticky thread "Master list of 65+ proven mods" and take your pick.
