Cd - if I'm looking at instant mpg it's all over the place, but it changes predictably. I might see high 20s on a slight incline and 70s on a slight downhill on a road that before having a scangauge I saw as "flat". I consider this normal. For looking at what mpg you get at a steady speed with a scangauge you can reset the current trip and watch your avg mpg, then make a run in the opposite direction and average the 2. I don't know if the superMID could do something simmilar.
