I played with classic VWs for the previous decade before finally moving on to purchase a water-pumper. I'm working on steadily improving the mileage on my '92 civic VX with a current target of 50-55mpg at freeway speeds, steady driving (no P&G) with minimally invasive aero mods to stay in lean-burn mode as long as possible.
