In the thread underbody-flat-belly-pan-suboptimal-explanation-solutions-offered-23159-new-post.html, MTrenk has mentioned exhausting the exhaust 'above' the diffuser. I keep bugging him but he hasn't addressed it yet. It might work best to add energy to the air before the wake instead of just trying to fill it.
I'm thinking about the relative volumes of exhaust, engine cooling air and the wake itself.
