Sorry, I meant Ben's Matrix. Just the gas that left over in the pump nozzle is a significant error. Maybe taking the trip average on the scan or ultra gauge, if so equipped, would be better, otherwise some device would need to be conceived to meter the topped off fuel more precisely as it is added. Maybe a dipstick that measures the height of the fuel in the neck.
