We rented a Fiat in France a couple of years ago that was manual and had the auto shut-off. It was great. Also, when we were on Tour in the UK last year, the Hyundai we rented had the same thing. It was a great car. Carried a three person band (including a 300 pounder), and all of our gear (scaled down setup from our normal - flights and all) on a 12 show tour around the UK, from top to bottom. Whole tour only took 1.5 tanks of gas. Low gear ratio, manual, auto shutoff - it all worked amazingly well. It's about time we start having these things coming to North America.
