You would have to keep filling up with the same amount and measuring where it is on the stick. This way you could plot out how it changes to figure out a difference in gas volume with a little calculus.
In other words, implausible.
It's just a fun little competition, if someone uses so little gas that the nozzle clicks off immediately... kudos to them. They did great!
