At some point I would like to go from 3.08 gears to 2.73 gears, I expect to pick up a little under 2mpg.
You would see at least that.
My metric for picking up MPGs is to try and stay under $250 per 1 MPG gained.
By the time you bought and installed the 2.73 rear, sold your old one I bet you could be in it for less than $500.
The 2.73 rear ends are toxic to the performance 1/4mile guys, they will all but give them away for free.

is that 2mpg purely highway or can some city increase be expected too?
regarding the mpguino, im not good at anything wiring or electronics so roughly how much would a shop charge to install it?
