Maybe you could also consider to do some strip in the interior trim to take some weight out, like it's usually done in race cars. Another thing to consider would be an A/C delete, but to not getting the wife upset it's possible to adapt some alternatives such as a swamp cooler. I've already seen some roof-mounted swamp cooler units, which are very popular among truckers in South America, but due to the increased drag they generate you could consider an alternative setup.
