2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8S

Thought I should introduce myself: been lurking and tracking my mileage on Ecomodder for almost two years, but I'm just now completing some aeromods on my 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8S (four-speed auto, 122,000 miles).

Lifetime Fuel Economy: 31.66 MPG
90-day Fuel Economy: 32.57 MPG
3-tank Fuel Economy: 33.84 MPG (started mods 5 tanks ago)
Best tank: 37.57 MPG

My wife won't let me change TOO much, unfortunately, but that makes the engineering all the more fun as I now have the challenge of maintaining the Sentra's stock look while creating effective mods.

Mods completed so far include: front underbody tray, front and rear tire spats, partial rear aero tray, partial lower grille block and a full upper grille block (just finished today!)

Pictures of all the mods I've done so far to come in a more appropriate aerodynamics thread later.

Hi mbarrus -

Congratulations on de-lurking & joining the forum.

Looking forward to seeing the mods. Your fuel economy seems to be heading in the right direction.

Thanks, I'm hoping to help others with a B15 Sentra make some easy and stealthy aeromods. I'm planning to post tutorials of how I made them along with pictures by this weekend.

Maybe you could also consider to do some strip in the interior trim to take some weight out, like it's usually done in race cars. Another thing to consider would be an A/C delete, but to not getting the wife upset it's possible to adapt some alternatives such as a swamp cooler. I've already seen some roof-mounted swamp cooler units, which are very popular among truckers in South America, but due to the increased drag they generate you could consider an alternative setup. It's quite easy to develop a homemade swamp cooler...
